I love journals, and before I was married, I wrote in a journal every night for 8 years.  Life changed, and with it my way of keeping a journal.  Now I use letters, emails, and my blog – but it just isn't the same.

Because of this, I have been really thinking about my children's lack of a journal – yes, I have scrapbooks, but it isn't the same.  Then I got my new magazine, Wondertime.  (It is made by the people who do Family Fun, which is my favorite!!)  In each issue, they have an "instant journal" for you to fill out about you child.  I LOVE IT!!  Here is one of the entries about Lily.  Image0_1

Image0_2 If you like the idea, you can print out the one from the fall issue, or let me know, and I can tell you the questions they had on the 3 I have.  It is fun and simple, and they go neatly into a binder.

That is such a great idea. I used a similar form with Katelynn, my oldest, but I have totally dropped the ball with Madeleine. I will certainly have to get back into the practice of keeping track of their changing moments

That is such a cute idea. I’ll have to check out the magazine sometime. Thanks for sharing!

I keep journals for my boys too, ones that they write and draw in. Plus, they each have scrapbooks that I am writing “to” them in, so it’s a journal to them from me in a way.
