We had a great, yet rather crazy, weekend. It all started on Friday morning when my friend Amber took some family pictures for us. Everything seemed ideal – location, lighting, weather (Tropical Storm Ernesto barely made a puddle here.) – everything that is, except for my children. Lily wanted to look at everything but the camera, and my very smiley boy, refused to smile!!! I think he may have cracked a small smile a few times, but nothing like he usually does. It was quite frustrating!! But that's kids . . . there to remind you who is really in control – he he!
After our family photo adventure, we went to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts – and I swear, this place was so old, I think it may have been one of the first ever opened. It was pretty cool, and Lily loved watching them make the donuts. But even more than that, she loved eating them :).
Our adventure continued on Saturday when we went on our ward temple trip. Our nearest temple is the Columbia, South Carolina Temple, about 2 hours away, and so we took the kids with us. Then Kevin graciously played with them while I got to attend the temple. It was a very wonderful and needed break.

We also found another couple in our ward who is willing to trade off with us, so that maybe we can go as a couple sometime :). The kids were so good, except Derek lost it about 20 minutes from getting there, and 20 minutes from getting home. This showed us that his max time in the car is about 2 hours. Good to know . . .
Today was a somewhat typical Sunday for me. A little crazy since I am in Primary, made crazier because our Primary Program is next week. I can't wait for it to be over, but it really will be so fun. Actually, fun might be too strong a word. Maybe interesting would be a better word for it. I think the kids will do great, it's keeping Lily from trying to rush the stage that I am worried about :). I'll have to keep you posted.
All in all, it has been a wonderful weekend. Mostly because we have been able to spend 3 straight days together as a family – you can't get much better than that.
