Img_122111_1 It all started in the 5th grade, when I bought my very own camera.  It was a Vivitar with everything – auto flash, advancement, etc.  I took that camera to school every day, and I would spend every recess taking pictures of my friends.  The photography bug had bit me.

Years later, after my mission, I bought my dream camera – the Canon Rebel.  I had lots of fun with that one, and even got to the point where I started taking portaits – engagement pictures, family pictures, and weddings.  I was even offered a job by the photographer at my little brother's wedding – which was pretty funny.  (Eventually, I added my telephoto lense to it all, which made it even more fun.)

Then in April of this year, I got my Canon Rebel Digital – my baby!!  I have never had so much fun doing what I love.   I have started doing photo shoots for people wherever I go.  I am a little out of control :), but it's all good.  I have also started taking classes, researching, and doing everything I can to hone my skills.  It really is a passion of mine, and if I hadn't studied to be an Elementary School teacher in college, my second choice was majoring in photography :).

So, I thought I would include a few of my favorites from the latest stuff I have done for friends and family . . . I hope you like them.  (See sidebar with my photography portfolio for my favorite pics in each catergory.)

PS.  This picture is of my nephew Paul Sandall – what a cutie!

what great photos! I often think about that camera (I’ve always been a Canon girl) and what fun that would be. But then I worry that it will take me sooo long to figure it out and I wonder if I have the time (or patience) for that. I’ve never used an SLR before, but they sure are great cameras. Maybe if I do ever make the leap I’ll have to get advice from you on what lenses to purchase, etc.

Wow Lisa! I’m very impressed. I have had a magazine ad of the Rebel Digital SLR in my “shannon” file at home for quite awhile now. After reading the reviews on it and seeing the difference it makes in it being an SLR I was sold. Still saving though…but I keep hinting to Todd that it would be a great 30th B-Day gift, considering I bought him an $800 guitar for his 30th! It’s only fair, right? 🙂

Hi, I found your blog through Shannons’ : )
Great shots, and good for your on the camera.
I have a Canon 20D and just love it, although it did take me forever to just learn the basic functions!
What lense do you have? I just ordered the 85mm 1.8 and am looking forward to using it.
    Have fun shooting!
