I need to explain. When Lily was a baby, some nice friends of Kevin's parents gave us this toy. It was fun, cute, and it played a little tune, "You Are My Sunshine," when you hit the button on the top of it.
It's sounds pretty innocent, and it was, until one day it just wouldn't stop. It played the song over and over and over!! Nothing we did could stop it. I even took it apart trying to find a battery, and then I had to sew it back together. (I know, you are asking yourself why we didn't just toss it? I just couldn't do it – I'm insane! It was cute, fun, and Lily loved it.) Finally, unable to take the music anymore, I wrapped it in a blanket and shoved it in Lily's closet. A few days later, I checked it, and it was silent. I figured the batteries had finally run out.
Fast forward to a few months ago. I was getting out the baby toys, and decided to check and see if the possessed toy would play it's song. I repeatedly pressed on that button with all my might, but no song played. I did a private celebration, and then put it out for Derek to play with. Well, a few days ago, Kevin yelled for me to come quick – he said I'd never believe what our boy had done. And this is how I found Derek, happily playing with "You Are My Sunshine" going in the background. I don't know how he did it, but once again, I wrapped that toy up in a blanket and locked it in the closet. The music eventually stopped, but whether it is gone for good . . . we may never know.
