Well, I was very excited for this weekend.  Kevin actually had a few days off, and I had big plans – and then life happened.  It started with Derek getting a fever and a cold, and then it hit Lily, and finally, me.  That sort of puts a damper on trying to go to the pool, or daddy/daughter dates for Kevin and Lily.  Oh well!

Unfortunately, even though I felt awful, I had to go to church – being the Primary President with BRAND NEW councilors, I didn't have a choice.  I am the only one who knows what's going on right now.  (And we only had one of our teachers show up, without even any nursery leaders there, so it was a good thing I came.)  Kevin graciously stayed home with the kids.  They watched Star Wars, and when I got home, I found both kids sleeping soundly.  What a great dad!  (Kevin was also particularly proud of how Derek was intently watching Star Wars – he he!)

We did get in one fun thing before we were completely taken over by illness.  We had our good friends, Bryce, Susan and  Hank Richardson, over for dinner.  They are moving to Utah, and we are so depressed to see them go.   My least favorite part of life is saying good bye to good friends.

We also had dinner with some new friends, Cindy and Issac Howard.  It was a nice way to brighten up a long day, but I ended up going home because I felt dizzy.  It turned out that I had a raging fever.(Yes, we pretty much went from house to house infecting everyone with our disease – he he!  Actually, everyone was well warned, we were careful, and they didn't seem to care that we were sick.)

Oh Lisa, what a bummer way to spend a long weekend! At least you got to visit with some good friends. I sure hope that you are all feeling better now 🙂 It’s funny that you mentioned how your husband and the kids were watching Star Wars while they were not feeling well, because that was my movie of choice when I was sick as a child. I was REALLY into Princess Leia, big time! I would have my mom put my long dark hair in two side buns and make people call me “Princess Leia” … but then I moved on to Laura Ingles and wore braids and pinafors to school each day for like a year. We had a big hill on our play ground and I would run down it with my hands spread out airplane style (a “Laura” scene at the biginning/end of each show). Ahhh, the memories of childhood 🙂

Oh there are going to be so many Browns feeling proud inside seeing that picture of Derek. The indoctrination has begun! Or, I’m sure it already began when he was in the womb!
