Img_06831_1 So, yesterday we got hit with Tropical Storm "Alberto," and let me tell you, it was something else.  Maybe it is the "dry desert little Western girl" in me talking, but wow!  That was a lot of rain.  I kept counting my blessings that we don't live on the ground floor.

The funniest thing about it, was last night when I got all paranoid that we were going to get hit with a tornado.  (We were on a tornado watch all night, so my fears weren't really unfounded.)  Then my imagination really got the better of me, as I heard the sound of a freight train.  I had always heard that is what a tornado sounds like, but silly me, we live by train tracks, and so it really was a freight train – he he!  As the wind was blowing things around, and branches were coming off the trees, somehow I finally managed to go to sleep.  So glad that it wasn't a hurricane!!

Here is the standing water by the middle of the day!  I thought our pond might even overflow.  Luckily, all is well.Img_06811

crazy rain — I noticed on the news the other day that the storm was heading straight for Savannah. Hope you guys make it through hurricane season with nothing too serious.
